Mapping03
Just playing around with body marks and reasons. On the top one, tried to connect with locations but it looks just too busy(again). It's getting harder thinking of how to order things as I can't make decisions on priorities. Time and place might be less interesting for me, but in a way it's showing his background. I'm still not sure whether it's important or not.

Mapping01
Marks based on Tim's medical research.
As I'm still in early stage of mapping, I only marked what he drew on the body shape.
He had stories to tell on most of his scars and disease which I found it quite funny. I want to go further to tell his stories, adding time facts, or locations(where he got scars).

Research - Alison Barnes "maps of new basford in Nottingham"
"One of a series of maps produced by Alison Barnes.
In this map Barnes has typographically charted the graffiti in New Basford, Nottingham. The detail shows the nature of the graffiti, tags, and insults displayed street by street in the area."
"A series of publications made as part of her research.
She used bar and pie charts to designate a range of information relating to the proliferation of graffiti and tagging in each street."
"All readable instances of graffiti within the area. The graffiti is categorised by subjects that are represented by colours."
"Maps are an accepted part of everyday life and, for most people, they are simply a graphic representation of space, regardless of whether they deal with road systems, populations, or natural features of the landscape. They become embedded in society as an unquestioned truth, a reality- they have become territory. However, the territory, its inhabitants and their behaviours are inevitably more complex than conventional maps illustrate."
All quoted from the book "Visual Research:An Introduction to Research Methodologies in Graphic Design By Ian Noble and Russell Bestley.
Then I found quite interesting review about this book.

some research
Examples of mapping(I think) in the books and magazine.
Some are quite irrelevant.
Because it didn't say anything about it on the description(or I ignored to read it), I had no idea about stompstamp. It was, in a way, making me feeling guilty observing this website.(My friend who saw me looking at this website said he was gonna call the police.) StompStamp is a brand selling kids wear legally, I believe, therefor this website is for mums&dads or their friends&siblings, not for the people who can be called "big 'P' words".

what I like, what I don't like
First project which was making film about myself.
As it was a week project, I decided to make this film simple as possible.
Instead of doing epic poetry of myself,I took the note I wrote down one night in the dining room and visualised it.
Still need to work on it - change subtitles(font and timing), ending sequence.
And if possible, sound design as well.
